Engineering, Design, and Development Asset Map and Research Study
This RFP is soliciting proposals to create an asset map of Michigan’s research and development, industrial design, and engineering stakeholders. The Michigan Economic Development Corporation (MEDC) adopted its five-year strategic plan in late 2019, which centers on six focus industry-clusters. The organization’s goals include developing strategic action plans for each of these industry and talent areas, and as part of that we are seeking assistance to inform those processes. Our goal in 2021 is to work with an independent firm to develop an asset-map for our Engineering, Design, and Development cluster (“EDD”). The EDD cluster comprises business activities in research and development, engineering, and specialized design services (definition included at end of document). Supported by our strong, legacy-backed automotive industry, Michigan has a bevy of talent, education, and resources in the EDD cluster.
Medical Device Industry Consultant
The MEDC is seeking to contract an industry consultant to assist with the execution of MEDC’s medical device sector efforts by growing and attracting key assets and resources focused on Michigan’s Medical Device Technology industry value chain, including, but not limited to, research & development, component manufacturing, contract manufacturing, packaging, original equipment manufacturing, and distribution. Desired assistance would also include identification and leveraging of federal opportunities and strategic partnerships that Michigan can take advantage of to further strengthen and enhance the medical device technology sector within the state.
